Soul Whyte Cracks top 500 Chart on Canadian Radio at 370!!

April 4th, 2009

Had another great week of plays on Top 40 radio across Canada with the single “All I Wanna Do” feat Jing.  Thanks to all the music directors!  I was lucky enough to meet many of them at Canada Music Week.  I feel very privileged to have broken into the top 500 Chart and to be at 370!  A shout out to Andrea Morris.

Very exciting news - I will be the special guest at a Concert with Souljah Fyah!!  Souljah Fyah is a sensational reggae band - whose lead singer is also from this town.  Souljah Fyah won a Western Canada Music Award and was nominated for a Juno!  The concert is slated for October 30, 2009.  The theatre will be filled with SOUL and lots and lots of fans.

This week, Tantalize in the Fort is selling my CDs.  You can buy the album at Winners Way, Wicky Wack, Southside Sound (for now!) in Edmonton and ALWAYS on line!!

Web tracker InnHosts confirms that this site had 11,312 hits in March 2009, with a total of 67,928 since the website was started!! Thanks for visiting my website.  I will be  on MySpace soon with streaming audio.  I’ll keep you posted.

What ’s new?  Have you watched the showreel? Click on video.  Have you seen the new pictures?  There is one with Gene Simmons and me!

Back from Canada Music Week and New Video of Show

March 17th, 2009

Happy St. Patty’s Day to all the other Irish out there (especially my Dad!!)

Toronto was great! - I was really inspired by all the talent.  I loved the shows (Lights, Randy Bachman, Gowan, Kreesha Turner), enjoyed chatting with people (like Gene Simmons! Cory Lee and Ish), and catching up with Mike and Troy from Hip Joint.  The seminars were a great learning experience - but the Kings of Songwriting really made me want to get to that level of storytelling in my songs.  I saw a new way of looking at performing after hearing Tom Jackson.  Of course, I was very lucky to meet up with some of Canada’s Music Directors and to meet new people as I mixed and mingled.  Thanks again to Andrea Morris and Joe Wood for being such kind “hosts”, and I am looking forward to working with Diane Foy(Publicist).  I had a chance to pass out my cards and talk about music with great people that love it like I do.   I look forward to following up with the great people I met and those that were kind to take my CD and check out my music.

My showreel video is up on my website  & Sonic Bids’ website, too.

My website -  Click on “video” on the left - top of the menu.

Sonic Bids - Click on the Sonic Bids link on the sidebar to view my EPK (Electronic Press Kit), and then on video on the upper menu.

Check it out!

Urban goes SubUrban - Soul Whyte Concert serves hip hop club-style to energetic fans

December 4th, 2008

November 30-2008 8pm - The concert blew the roof off of the Shell Theatre!  Centre Stage - DJ Creeasian introduced the mood and music.  The show opened with the slick moves of the Shadow Twins from 3rd Street Beat.  K-Riz cranked up the crowd with stellar raps. The crowd was wowed by the big performance of 3 strong Darkson Tribe.  The turntables were in action even during the intermission - and then… the second set started with the darkness and the beats - then a blast of light and the music to “Everybody Dance” cranked up the crowded theatre!  Soul Whyte had hit the stage!! He grabbed the audience and pulled them through and into the beats and tunes from his album, Locker 149.  The crowd chanted along in RSVP, the crowd sang along to his songs, cheered when Jing joined in for “All I Wanna Do”, lit up their cell phones on “So Surreal” and got the party started when he covered Usher’s “Love in this Club” with K-Riz adding the raps.  Soul Whyte filled up the edges of the theatre with his voice on Mario’s “How do I Breathe?”.  Every age group joined in with “Right Back Where We Started From.” The crowd danced and rushed the stage for “Suga Suga” and gave Soul Whyte an encore!!  This was an interactive show mixing members of Edmonton area hip hop heavies - a real treat for the City and fans of urban music.
